Horse Trainers Favor Longwood Arenas
Text LinkListen to Kelly Prather explain why arena footing is critical to training horses at the highest level.
"I ride and compete at the top level of three day eventing, and I train horses as well for dressage, showjumping and hunter jumpers. The condition and the footing in the arena is the most important part of training and producing horses to any level of sport. This arena here is the geotextile footing and so it is made to simulate grass. There's take and give to move under the foot, but it doesn't let them slip. Joe's vision of arenas and being able to imagine exactly how they need to be and replicate is an amazing talent I don't think anybody else has."
